What is branding — and why does it matter?

Branding is more than a logo. It's the consistent look and feel people associate with your business — your colours, your type, the way your name appears on your van, website, or invoices. When it's done well, customers recognise you instantly.

A strong brand builds trust. It says you're professional, you've thought it through, and you're here to stay. For local businesses, that first impression often happens on a website or a Google search — before anyone picks up the phone.

What's included

  • Logo design — A primary mark that works in colour and mono (e.g. for signage, receipts)
  • Logo variations — Stacked and horizontal versions for different uses
  • Colour palette — 2–4 colours with hex codes so you can reuse them everywhere
  • Typography choices — Font recommendations for headings and body (you'll use these on your website and materials)
  • Simple brand guidelines — How to use the logo (spacing, minimum size, what to avoid)
  • Files you can use — High‑res for print, web‑ready for your site and socials

Perfect for…

  • New businesses launching and need a professional identity from day one
  • Businesses rebranding — the old look doesn't fit anymore
  • Trades and local services wanting a logo for the van and website
  • Clinics, salons, and therapists who want to stand out locally
  • Anyone about to build a website who doesn't yet have a coherent look

Why invest in branding?

Recognition

Customers remember you. A clear, consistent brand helps you stick.

Trust

A considered look signals you take your business seriously.

Consistency

One system for your website, van, socials, and paperwork — no more mix-and-match.

Branding and your website

Your logo and colours become the foundation of your website. I design both — so your site and your brand are built to work together. No awkward cropping, no clashing fonts.

You can also commission branding on its own. If you already have a website or you're planning one later, you'll have a solid identity ready to drop in.

FAQ

Common questions

Straight answers. No jargon.

How long does it take?

Most branding projects are finished within 2–3 weeks. We'll agree a timeline at the start. It depends on how many rounds of refinement you'd like.

How many logo concepts do I get?

I create 2–3 directions to choose from, then we refine the one that fits. The package includes a set number of revision rounds—we'll agree that up front.

Can you match my existing colours?

Yes. If you have colours you want to keep, I'll build them into the palette and make sure the logo works with them.

What if I need changes?

The package includes revision rounds. We'll agree how many at the start. Small tweaks within those rounds are included.

Do I own the logo?

Yes. Once the final payment is made, you own the logo and get full usage rights. I may use it in my portfolio to show my work—we can discuss if you prefer otherwise.

Can you design my van sign / business cards too?

Logo and branding packages focus on the identity. For van signage, business cards, or other print, I can either quote separately or point you to recommended suppliers who can use your files and guidelines.
